Marek Skakuj

Marek Skakuj (1977) is a graduate of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology. In 2002 he defended his Master’s thesis, which focused on creating and optimizing an image encoder according to JPEG2000 standard for Internet applications.

Since the beginning of his career Marek Skakuj has been associated with the Heller Group. Initially, he worked in the Research and Design Office of Communication Construction TRANSCOMP Sp. z o. o. in Warsaw as a programmer. In 2004 he moved to the Federal Republic of Germany and started working in the HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH consulting office in Darmstadt. He currently combines the positions of proxy and project manager (consultant).

The topics of standardization and process approach in various management concepts have always been an important part of Marek Skakuj’s professional work. He is a specialist in the implementation of management standards, including in particular ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and ISO 55000 (Asset Management).

He is a member of the Forschungsgesellschaft für Straßen- und Verkehrswesen, an institute responsible for road standardization, and of the Project Management Institute (PMI), an association of professional project managers.

Privately, he is married and has children. In his free time he coaches a junior football team and has a passion for landscape photography.
